.GROUNDWORK AND YOU
Groundwork helps you become aware of, and take possession of, the authentic grounds of your experience. Is it therapy? Is it politics? Is it philosophy? Groundwork rejects all classical, medical, academic or bureaucratic labels. Groundwork is holistic in its connections.
Groundwork has a connection with therapy
Groundwork helps you find the hidden parts of your real story. It brings awareness. It helps your psyche to shift, to re-integrate, to grow, to know itself. So the result of Groundwork is naturally therapeutic.
Groundwork has a connection with creativity
Groundwork helps you find the mystery of yourself, and releases creative energy (eros). The energy of creation, of love, of art, of relatedness. Through Groundwork, you can find the energy and inspiration to build your life more as you want it to be.
Groundwork has a connection with psychodrama
Groundwork asks you to consider yourself as an actor who has been given roles, scripts, dialogues, emotions, fellow cast members, sets and a stage. Groundwork psychodrama lets you move out of your normal role, and explore roles that may be mysterious to you, scary to you, or roles that are much more to your liking.
Groundwork has a connection with bodywork
Groundwork includes the body as the physical ground of your emotions, your heart, your dreams, your inspiration, your fears, your anger. Groundwork lets you experience what your body holds, suffers with, dreams of, dances with.
Groundwork has a connection with philosophy
Groundwork believes that our lives must have meaning. The question of meaning is absent from many therapies, but is central to Groundwork. Groundwork believes that the history of philosophy is the quest for humanitys meaning in the universe. Our thinking minds can and must take part in the Groundwork process.
Groundwork has a connection with politics
Groundwork believes that the human situation is conditioned by economic, social, political and cultural forces at work around us. Big business, mass media and politicians impact the way we think and feel. Groundwork is interested in freeing the human psyche from manipulative systems, so that we as humans can dream, build, and live a better future. Groundwork is liberation.
Groundwork has a connection with spirituality
Its impossible to feel the results of Groundwork without becoming aware of the strange structure of the universe. Some call it magic. The way our psyches cause things to happen. The mysterious self within us that is connected to nature, to the infinite. That seems waiting - waiting for us to finally discover.
